First Kyiv translation agency: Legalisation and apostille
The legalisation of the document provides the legal force of the document on territory of foreign states. Thus, in order to submit abroad a legal document, issued on the territory of Ukraine, you must legalise it.
The legalisation confirms and verifies authorities, signatures and, in some cases, stamps or seals of the official who issued the document.
There are two types of legalisation: Apostille and Consular legalisation.
Apostille is issued when the destination country (the country the document shall be submitted in) is the participant of Hague convention of the year 1961 *, and is issued by The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
In other cases the document shall undergo the Consular legalisation procedure in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and in the consulate of the destination country.
There are particular requirements to the documents to be legalised, as well it is worth mentioning that for some countries the documents legalisation is not needed *.
